Caledon Communication Centres

I seem to have been a bit lax on my disseminating information on this project. So let me now bring people up to speed.

The last tea we all started talking about a map for visitors who come to Caledon, something that would have a listing of stores and descriptions on it. That grew into ideas about having some free outfits for visitors, and maybe even other freebees. I then thought of how many “objects” would be needed to get each of these things out, and then multiplied that by how many hubs there are. It started to sound cluttered and messy. Not what we all want to see when we come to Caledon.

The idea for a contest was born. $2500 to the best design. Only Caledonians could enter and vote for the winner.

Long story short… we now have a nice kiosk type object that will be hosted by at least one person in each sim, preferably someone with land right on the hub.

The kiosk is scripted (thank you Chance Takashi) to, when touched, activate a pop up menu that gives you a list of “things” you can get out of the kiosk. Notecards and items packed in to a prim package are what can be given out.

The Kiosks, which are called Caledon Community Centres or CCC’s, are being handed out as of now, and contain a store and landmark directory (thank you Eleanor Brentano) and the land information card that Mr Shang has in the welcome signs.

I am looking for a designer to make one woman’s and one man’s outfit to be given out as a freebee, as well as a directory of the different groups that are active in Caledon.

All of the kiosks are updatable by me from one central location so updates will be super easy.

I think that is all the details, I just got back from lunch and am going into carb shock *laughs* I will post more if anything more comes to mind.

Cheers!
Miss Serra

You're very welcome. It was a fun project to write. And the kiosk design is fantastic! Those'll look great all around Caledon.
